Importing from CSV

Have an existing list? Import it in seconds:

1

Prepare your file

Your CSV should have columns for email, name, and company. Only email is required.

2

Click Import

On the Contacts page, click the Import button and select your CSV file.

3

Review and confirm

Preview the data before importing. Duplicate emails are automatically skipped, so it's safe to re-import.

Organizing with Groups

Groups let you organize contacts into categories for targeted sending.

1

Create a group

On the Contacts page, click Groups to manage your groups. Create groups like “Newsletter”, “VIP Customers”, or “Leads”.

2

Assign contacts

When adding or editing a contact, select which groups they belong to. You can also assign in bulk by selecting multiple contacts.

3

Send to a group

When composing an email, choose a group as the recipient. Everyone in the group receives the email.

Contact groups management

Organize contacts into groups for targeted sending

Best Practice

A single contact can belong to multiple groups. For example, a person can be in both “Newsletter” and “VIP Customers”.

Contact Status

Each contact has a status that determines whether they receive emails:

StatusMeaningCan Receive?
ActiveReceiving emails normallyYes
UnsubscribedOpted out of emailsNo
BouncedEmail address is invalidNo
Good to Know

Unsubscribes and bounces are handled automatically. When someone clicks “unsubscribe” in an email, their status updates instantly. You don't need to manually remove anyone.

Exporting Contacts

Click Export on the Contacts page to download your full contact list as a CSV file. This is useful for:

  • Creating backups of your audience
  • Migrating to another platform
  • Sharing data with your team
Tips

Best Practices

Keep your list clean

Regularly remove bounced contacts and inactive subscribers. A clean list means better deliverability and more accurate analytics.

Always get permission

Only add people who have agreed to receive your emails. Sending to people who didn't opt in leads to spam complaints and hurts your sender reputation.

Use groups strategically

The more targeted your sends, the better your engagement. Send product updates to customers, not prospects. Send onboarding tips to new signups, not everyone.
